Local MP Sheryll Murray visited one of Cornwall Council’s mobile libraries this week to highlight the service in light of a Cornwall Council consultation into their future.
Cornwall Council describes their consultation as, “As part of the overall savings plan for Cornwall Council the mobile library service is now facing a 50% cut in 2014/15. We would like to find out if you currently use our mobile library service? What do you think of it? And do you think we could deliver the service in a different way? We hope you will find time to fill in our questionnaire and give us your views.”
In a statement Sheryll said, “These libraries are a fantastic facility and really bring the library to our more rural villages. I hope users will take advantage of this consultation to show the support they have. It would be very disappointing if local residents lost this service.”
