Local MP Sheryll Murray was pleased to join the local people of Cawsand and Kingsand as the Black Prince made its way through these villages before setting sail.
Sheryll's first job was to tour the villages with Sue Willoughby to judge the best decorated business and home. Sheryll commented, "I was really pleased to see so many homes and businesses decorated this year. I would really like to thank all those who took the effort to decorate their premises making both villages so nice. It really does show a fantastic community spirit. Special congratulations to winners the Devonport Inn and The Haven."
Sheryll was then pleased to join the Black Prince at the Kingsand Community Hall to crown the May King and Queen.
Her formal duties over Sheryll was pleased to join the procession and enjoy the festivities surrounding the Black Prince with a variety of traditional dancers performing at The Rising Sun, The Devonport Inn, The Halfway House Inn and finally The Cross Keys Inn before the Black Prince was launched to sea.
Sheryll said, "It was a very enjoyable day and I would like to thank all those who organised and took part in this very traditional event. The day also raises funds for the Lions charities and I would like to thank everyone who gave so generously."
